Our journey begins with a visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, one of Christianity's holiest sites and, according to Christian tradition, the place of Jesus' crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. Just outside the church, we will visit the Mosque of Omar, built in memory of the historic Pact of Omar, the agreement associated with the peaceful surrender of Jerusalem to Caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab in 638 CE. Here, you'll learn about the significance of this pivotal moment in Jerusalem's history and its lasting influence on the city's religious coexistence. We then continue through the winding streets of Jerusalem's historic Muslim Quarter, where centuries-old alleyways, traditional markets, and historic buildings reveal the vibrant daily life of the Old City. Our journey then leads us into the sacred compound of Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of Islam's most revered places of worship. According to Islamic belief, this is where Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) led all the previous prophets in prayer after ascending to the heavens during the miraculous Isra and Mi'raj, ultimately reaching Sidrat al-Muntaha, where he met Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) and received the command establishing the five daily prayers.
